Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
Daybank (“we”, “us”) is a free app for planning your days, money, habits and life with the people you share it with. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
The short version
- We collect only what Daybank needs to work for you.
- We don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads.
- Your money, plans and habits are private to you, and to the people in a Space only for what you choose to share there.
- You can download everything, or delete your account forever, any time from Settings.
Your consent
By creating a Daybank account (for example, by tapping “Continue with Google” or signing up with your email), you agree that we may collect, store and use the details described in this policy so Daybank can work for you. That means:
- storing your account details and everything you add, securely, in our database;
- using them to display your information back to you in the app, on your devices, and to the people and places you choose (your Spaces and, if you turn it on, your public profile);
- using them to run Daybank’s features for you, like Sunny, reminders, notifications, summaries and backups.
We use your data only for these purposes, never to sell or for advertising. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account from Settings, which removes your data as described below.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and profile picture from Google when you sign in with Google, or your email address if you sign up with email. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider, stored securely in hashed form, and never visible to us.
- What you put in Daybank: bookings and schedules, quarter plans and goals, habits and check-ins, to-dos, wallets, transactions, budgets, debts, recurring bills, and anything you add in a Space.
- Your public profile (optional): if you create one, your username, photo, cover, bio, links and the sections you choose to share. Only what you switch on is public, and never balances, amounts or transactions.
- About you (optional): whether you’re a student, working, freelancing or taking care of home, so Daybank and Sunny can ask the right questions.
- Reminders and notifications: reminders you set, the alerts we send you, and, if you turn on notifications, a push address for your device.
- Messages to Sunny: what you type to our AI helper is used only to answer and make the changes you ask for, and isn’t saved by us (see “Your chats with Sunny”). We keep a daily count of messages and tokens.
- Uploads: pictures you upload (profile photos, QR codes, screenshots). They are checked and re-drawn as new images, which removes hidden data such as location.
- Supporter notes and feedback: if you send a gift note or feedback, what you write, plus a transaction reference or screenshot you choose to add.
- Usage and device information: pages visited, buttons and links tapped (inside the app this is only the page and the button’s purpose, never your amounts, names or notes), approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, collected by analytics tools (below), plus a record of which days you used the app.
- Error reports: if something breaks in Daybank (on our servers or in your browser), we get a technical report so we can fix it: what went wrong, the page, your browser type and your account ID. Error reports never include your messages, amounts, names or notes.
How we use it
- To run Daybank: show your data, sync it across devices, and share what you choose with your Spaces.
- To power Sunny and its reminders, summaries and setups.
- To keep Daybank safe: preventing abuse and spam, and limiting AI use so the service stays free.
- To understand how Daybank is used, so we can fix problems and improve it.
- To make daily backups, so your data can be restored if something goes wrong.
Your chats with Sunny
We don’t save your conversations with Sunny in our database. A chat lives only in your browser while it’s open, so it’s private to you, and if you close it or clear it, it’s gone for good.
To give you accurate, helpful answers, Sunny needs a little context. When you talk to Sunny, your message and the details it needs for that request (like your wallets, plans or habits) are processed by the AI service that powers Sunny, in its secure data centers, and the answer comes straight back to you. Daybank doesn’t keep that information afterwards. The same goes for screenshots or photos you choose to send Sunny during setup: they’re shrunk on your device, read once by the AI service to pick out the amounts, and not stored by Daybank. This is simply how Sunny works: it can’t help you properly without it. By chatting with Sunny, you agree to this processing; if you’d rather not, you can use Daybank without Sunny.
We choose the service behind Sunny carefully and only send what each request needs. Its data centers are run under its own terms and safeguards, which aren’t under Daybank’s direct control. We only count how much you use Sunny (messages and tokens per day) to keep it free and fair for everyone.
Who helps us run Daybank
We use a few trusted service providers for sign-in, hosting, our database, image storage, usage statistics and Sunny’s AI. They process data only to provide their service to us and aren’t allowed to use it for anything else.
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with those service providers, with people in your Spaces (for what you choose), on your public profile (if you make one public), or when required by law.
Who at Daybank can see it
Your money, plans and habits are for you. In our admin panel the Daybank team sees only your account details (name and email) and how much you use Sunny (messages and tokens), so we can manage the AI budget and keep the service running. We don’t view your wallets, transactions, budgets, debts or habits.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed and a final backup is kept for up to 30 days in case of a mistake, then deleted. Some records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and similar laws, you can access, correct, download or delete your data, and object to how it’s used. In Daybank you can:
- edit or delete anything you’ve added,
- download all your data from Settings,
- delete your account forever from Settings,
- keep your profile private, and choose what each Space can see.
For anything else, email us at hello@daybank.app.
Security
Your data is stored in a secured database and sent only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access is limited to what’s needed to run the app, each person can only reach their own data (and what others have shared with them), and uploads are checked and re-drawn before they’re stored. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password (or a secure Google account) and tell us if you notice anything wrong.
Private vault
Before you manage money in Daybank, you set up the private vault in Settings → Security. From then on, the balances, amounts and notes of your own wallets, cards, transactions, budgets, debts, recurring items and goals are locked on your device with a passcode only you know, before they’re saved. We store only the locked version and can’t read it, and neither can anyone on the Daybank team. We hold only the locked vault; without your keys we can’t read or edit what’s inside. You hold the keys: your passcode and a recovery code that only you have (we don’t keep a copy). We can’t reset your passcode, and if you lose both your passcode and your recovery code, the locked details can’t be recovered by anyone. Please keep them safe and private; if they’re lost, shared or compromised, that’s your responsibility (see our Terms). Joint wallets, shared budgets and savings goals in a space are locked with a key only that space’s members hold, once every member has turned on the vault; until then they stay readable to the space’s members (but not to us in our admin panel). When you ask Sunny something, your device sends the unlocked numbers needed for that one question; they’re used to answer and aren’t stored. Reminders for locked items are sent without amounts.
Children
Daybank isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app.
